"Around the base of a mountain, two rivers rushed toward one another seeking passage to the sea. Nestled into the mountain’s steep side was a secluded, magical spot called Black Bear Mountain Village." (Quote excerpted from first draft - Camelot Disrupted - Book One, Lost Hope Regained)
It is up against this fictionalized mountainside as a backdrop that a correspondingly real life equivalent also exists, with BIG happenings now underway.
The fantasized version, now in progress, is being written by me, Anastasia (ARJ), Sue deVeer, my BFF, business partner and NH/ZOP Board Member, and my team of Manhattan-based, award-winning writers. Due out in 2023.
A book writing project such as this is no small endeavor. Nor had we expected it to be.
What we had not anticipated, however, is that alongside the writing of our imaginary tale set on fictionalized Black Bear Mountain, we would also undertake a full-scale remodeling and property development project that, as circumstances have unfolded are leading to our creating a living version of Black Bear Mountain Village. As it is now being written in fiction, so it is also coming to be in real time, with real earth, wind, fire and water. And real live people!
All of the above brings us to our forthcoming discussion topic, Lost Hope Regained, designed for us to begin exploring answers to the blog topic I introduced earlier on the New Horizons Small “Zones Of Peace” Project blog site – “Why & How Is This Going To Be Important For YOU? -- "Official Now! NH/ZOP Harpers Ferry Retreat Center To Be Renamed -- Black Bear Mountain Village.”
We know ourselves to be well-equipped for the forthcoming adventure which might be summarized as learning how to climb the Mountain of Awe or, minimally, preparing for the adventure. Prepared to us means we have: knowledge, experience, expertise, wisdom, determination and dedication. However, these might all add up to nothing much but the musings of visionaries -- without the collaboration of those who might travel with us, like yourself.
We are after the building of small "zones of peace," a collaborative effort to endeavor if there ever was one.
Please join us for our forthcoming online broadcast for what is intended to be only the first of many discussions on how we can collaborate to make real the promises of Black Bear Mountain Village, a model in fiction and real time for building and sustaining small "zones of peace" in a troubled world.
