History: New Horizons Truth Squad came into being out of New Horizons original GAME community, titled the Discount Derby Community, circa 1985, officially inaugurated by Martin (Marty) G. Groder, M.D. to be an Asklepeion Total Learning Environment Counterculture Community.
It is difficult to pin down the specific beginnings of the New Horizons "community," as we began playing our GAME, after being introduced to "the
GAME" in 1976, at the James River Penitentiary, The James River facility had, at that time, an Asklepeion Therapeutic Community, developed by Dr. Groder that incorporated "the GAME" as its centerfold rehabilitation strategy.

Under the guidance and supervision of both Ken Windes, a reformed convict and highly successful alum of the Asklepeion program and Marty, Anastasia began, at this initial stage, to develop skill in guiding the strategies of the GAME technology, that has since become "mastery" in her.
Her initial forays into this area of professional evolution took shape during her term as the Clinical Director of the Assisi Shelter For Abused Women where she was experimenting, under Dr. Groder's supervision, with the application of the GAME technology as a treatment strategy for domestic violence victims living at the shelter.
The GAME, originally instituted to rehabilitate incarcerated inmates -- to a focus on the victims of violence rather than the perpetrators of it, used in this way was, at the time, recognized as a groundbreaking innovation -- and -- likely will be similarly distinguished in the future, once it, again, becomes widespread in its participation, especially in this day and age of #MeToo and political corruption that some people DO NOT WISH TO ALLOW TO CONTINUE unchallenged.
Yet, in fact, the onslaught of confrontations of Donald Trump's deceitful and corrupt behavior, by the media, Congressional Democrats, other government officials and various citizen groups and citizens is very much like the GAME, both that of New Horizons/Small "Zones of Peace" and the original Asklepeion GAME, without some of its structures that made the Asklepeion Therapeutic Community so impactful in prison rehabilitation.

These may, very well in fact, actually be doing some good, as, minimally, the publicly naming of such dark behaviors as he constantly demonstrates does not withstand confrontation, indefinitely.
Remember -- "All that is necessary for evil to succeed is for good men (and women) to do nothing."
In the war against Trump and his allies by "good people," action is being taken by naming and G-d, too, seems to have His/Her hand in it, too, as the coronavirus pandemic could have come from no other source!
So dynamic was this effort on Anastasia's part that, soon, from 1980 through 1998, Anastasia's GAME, called the "Discount Derby" became well-known throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area as a therapeutic process praised by statements such as --
As time went on, the participants of the GAME and the therapeutic community, officially inaugurated by Marty Groder on December 1, 1985, evolving from it became so amazingly synergistic and exceptional in their conduct with one another they began to think of themselves as sadly alien in a society, not unlike ours today though much less obviously as divided and corrupt.
With this behind them, the GAME community members created a chant to speak of their unity, as well as their separateness. Unfortunately, the words of the chant have not been recently located. However, the beginning went something like this -

The revitalized Discount Derby, now named the Truth Or Dare GAME, was launched in September, 2018, following Anastasia's having come through an ethics complaint ordeal, charging Marty Groder with sexual harassment.
Exhausted by the experience, Anastasia recruited the Board Members of New Horizons to begin re-instituting the GAME, firstly so she could have a reliable environment where she could be certain that lies, deceit and manipulations would be called out, accounted for and transparently dealt with. This was what she believed she needed most to help her, not only heal, but to grow in the best ways possible from the ethics complaint ordeal that she saw as being as lacking in integrity as our current Congressional impeachment hearings.
Now (as of January, 2020), the New Horizons Board of Directors, also serving as the Truth Or Dare "Elite" GAME community has played sixteen GAMES -- and -- Anastasia is feeling increasingly healthy and happy.
What a difference a truth-committed environment can make!

No Violence
No Threats Of Violence
No Chemical Intoxication (on our premises and/or while attending any of our programs or as a habitual practice)
No Secrets Or Collusions
No Sexual Interacting Between New Horizons Participants --
- Unless established prior to NHC participation;
- Except with consent of director
No Emotional/Psychological Abuse of New Horizons Participants or Staff (There is no excuse for abuse.)
(i.e. “subtle violence” = emotional abuse/discounting that evokes pain. Added April 2, 2019 -- Joe Biden's reportedly "inappropriate" contact with several women is an example of this.)
- If anyone informs you that they “feel abused” (“discounted" or even "feeling uncomfortable" with your behavior toward them) = subtle violence”) by you, meaning that you must stop whatever you are doing – and –
- Discover what you are doing that “feels abusive,” “discounting” or "uncomfortable to the other person;
- Discover what you could do instead that behavior that has been identified as “feeling abusive,” “discounting” or "uncomfortable to others.
Question: What's your guess as to how and why New Horizons "no abuse" rule has had such impact as to make it a GAME changer?
Answer: Because in our GAME, we honor the subjective emotions of all participants, without judgement.
No one need prove whether or not a certain behavior etc. is, in fact, truly/factually abuse, by any given outside standards.
All that is necessary is for a person to identify that they are feeling abused/unsafe/discounted/"uncomfortable etc., in our GAME, to warrant an adjustment on the part of another/others to ensure that comfort and safety for all is maintained.
Conclusion: Don't you wish the whole world could act on this principle/practice?
